Client Engagement Manager / Account Manager – Public Sector (IT Services)

With a deep portfolio of IT consulting, application modernization, cloud, and managed services, the company partners with federal, state, and local agencies to enhance citizen services, modernize legacy systems, and deliver mission-critical technology solutions.
We are seeking a highly experienced Client Engagement Manager / Account Manager with a strong track record in selling and growing IT services within the public sector. This is a senior “farmer” role focused on managing strategic government accounts, expanding partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow strategic relationships with state and local government clients, serving as the primary engagement leader and trusted advisor.
- Sell and expand IT services — including application development, cloud migration, data modernization, and managed services — within existing accounts.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities through cross-sell, upsell, and solution expansion across government departments and agencies.
- Work closely with internal delivery, pre-sales, and solutions teams to craft proposals aligned with agency objectives.
- Develop a deep understanding of procurement cycles, contracting vehicles, and RFP/RFI processes to position solutions effectively.
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs), deliver strategic account plans, and maintain executive-level visibility into account health and growth.
- Support contract renewals, re-bids, and competitive positioning to ensure long-term account success.
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in client engagement, account management, or sales roles focused on selling IT services to public sector / government clients.
- Proven track record of revenue growth, account expansion, and solution sales within state or local government environments.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, government contracting, and RFP/RFI response cycles.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with senior government stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with delivery, pre-sales, and leadership teams to drive business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field preferred.
