Staff Field Applications EngineerLocation: San Jose, California (Relocation available)

We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Field Applications Engineer to work closely with sales, engineering, and customers to deliver optimized solutions in high-frequency power electronics using GaN and Si technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide switching power supply design support using company products
• Offer technical guidance to global customers
• Analyze and resolve technical issues raised by customers
• Conduct design reviews including schematics, PCB layout, magnetics, and performance results
• Provide component selection guidance for optimal power supply performance
• Support sales teams in customer visits and technical training
• Assist in trade shows and seminars to promote products
• Perform complex circuit analysis including worst-case design evaluation

Requirements:

• BSEE/MSEE or equivalent degree
• BSEE with 7+ years or MSEE with 4+ years of experience
• Hands-on experience in power supply design or power electronics
• Experience designing transformers and inductors for switching power supplies
• Knowledge of power supply topologies (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills for circuit design and worst-case analysis
• Experience with tools such as MATLAB, Excel, C++, SIMPLIS, LTspice, or similar simulation tools
• Hands-on lab experience with high-frequency switching power supply testing equipment
• Strong communication skills (technical reporting, documentation, customer interaction)
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in firmware development using C/C++ for embedded power applications
• Ability to support firmware-related discussions for power electronics systems
